$$$Cost
and Registration$$$
$90
Yes, you read it right, just
$90 for eight days of bliss. This cost includes transportation, lodging,
entrance fees to all attractions, and meals! You will be responsible
for purchasing only one meal during the entire trip--dinner on Tuesday
at Willow Grove Inn.
Since the History Club is contributing
several hundreds of dollars towards the costs of this jaunt, History Club
members who participated in the fundraising during the Fall of 1998 or
before will have the first opportunity to reserve a space on the trip.
There will be 12 seats on the "History Bus," and they will be filled by
the first twelve people to pay a non-refundable
deposit of $20. Make checks payable to "Phi Alpha Theta of UPJ" and
bring them to Dr. Newman in Krebs 123.
History
Club Members may register beginning Wednesday,
January 27, at 8am
All
Other UPJ Students may register beginning Thursday,
January 28 at 8am
If the seats fill, there will
be an "alternate" or "stand-by list," which will fill in vacancies on a
first come-first serve basis. No deposit is required for "stand-by."
Remaining
$70 (also non-refundable) must be paid by
Wednesday, February 10.
If you fail to pay the remaining
$70 by that date, you forfeit your spot on the trip and a "stand-by" will
fill the spot. If no stand-bys are available,
you will also forfeit your deposit. If your spot is filled,
you will be refunded your deposit. If you pay
the total amount, $90, and then decide to cancel, you will only receive
a refund if a stand-by can take your place.
Eligibility
This trip is open to ALL
UPJ STUDENTS. You must be a current student of the University of
Pittsburgh (any campus) to make this trip. History
Club Members/Phi Alpha Thetans will be allowed early registration, but
no other preferential treatment. The History Club has sponsored 7
trips in the last three years, and everyone has included non-History Club
participants.
Rules
-
1. With the exception of our shopping
time in Fredericksburg, we will all stay together at all times.
-
2. There will be no alcoholic beverages
will be permitted in the van or in any hotel/motel rooms. If you are of
the age of majority and wish to imbibe a potable with your dinner in a
restaurant, knock yourself out, however, I will not have you contribute
to the delinquency of minors.
-
3. No drugs.
-
4. Given the closeness of the sleeping
quarters, I would ask that you refrain from any intimate activity that
may offend others in your presence. Exercise common sense and discretion.
Consequences for Violations
-
Violation of rule 1 could leave
you stranded in Virginia while the rest of us return to the spiritual and
physical oasis we know as Johnstown.
-
Violation of rule 2 will result
in a long Greyhound ride back to Johnstown. I'll buy the ticket and put
you on the bus immediately myself.
-
Violation of rule 3 will land you
in jail--I'll put you there!
-
Punishment for violation of rule
4 I will leave to the discretion of the offended parties--within reason
of course
