Why should I join a sorority?
The experience you will gain by joining a sorority is unlike
any you will gain through other organizations. Through sorority
membership you gain an affiliation with an organization
for a lifetime, not just for your collegiate years. Sorority
life incorporates all aspects of college life with focuses
on academics, philanthropy and service, sisterhood, social
endeavors as well as athletics. No other organization can
boast to be as well rounded in all area's. Greek life provides
ample opportunity to give you the tools necessary to excel
in all domains.

How do I know what sorority I should join?
It is strongly encouraged that you meet as many members
from all chapters as possible. Through these interactions,
you will gain a deeper understanding of what you want
in your sorority. With this knowledge, you will be able
to choose the chapter that you feel most comfortable at
with members who have similar values and interests as
those that you desire.

Do sororities haze?
All National Panhellenic Conference sororities have a
strict no hazing policy. Under no circumstance is hazing
permissible. The sororities are responsible to follow
university policies as well which do not tolerate hazing.
If at any point a member feels they are treated with disrespect,
they can contact the university greek advisor or the sororities
national organization to report the incident.

Is the show MTV's Sorority Life reflective of all sororities?
No, the sororities shown on Sorority Life are local sororities,
which do not have the standards or regulations that those,
which are members of the National Panhellenic Conference
abide by. There are 26 sororities which are members of
NPC. These sororities have set high standards to help

Will joining a sorority affect my grades?
The top priority of college students is their academics.
Sororities value education and promote programs to assist
you in your scholastic endeavors to help you to surpass
your academic goals. Programming which includes time management
and study skills seminars are just a few of the opportunities,
which are provided to you as a member to assist you in
your pursuit to success.

Are sorority members "paying for their friends"?
Almost all organziations charge a fee to be involved.
Whether it be a sports team for equipment and travel or
the theatre club for costumes and props. Just as other
organizations charge a fee to be involved, we need to
too. The money collected for member dues contributes to
paying for social events, donating money to charity, greek
week events, and even educational speakers.
