The data file ARTIFACTS.TXT contains information on the artifacts collected from the surface during the settlement survey. Each line represents a single collection. There are 136 lines, each with 25 variables separated by commas. The variables are, in the following order:

The first line of the file, for example, looks like this:

B-1,1,10,100,100,809,61,17,10,9,20,0,0,5,0,0,0,0,0,58,0,0,0,3,0

This indicates that the collection is from site B-1 and is collection number 1 from that site. It was made in an area of 10 square meters, and its coordinates within the site were 100 m north and 100 m east. It yielded 809 sherds; 61 lithic artifacts; 17 fragments of nondiscernible debris; 10 fragments of worn debitage; 9 worn flakes; 20 unworn flakes; no retouched flakes or worn whole bifaces; 5 worn broken bifaces; no unworn whole bifaces, unworn broken bifaces, cores, points or manos; 58 basalt fragments; no chert, obsidian, or slate artifacts; 3 quartz artifacts; and no other artifacts.

The last (136th) line of the file is:

RK-40,1,25,100,100,410,58,12,3,1,38,1,0,1,0,0,2,0,0,29,1,1,0,1,26

This indicates that the collection is from site RK-40 and is collection number 1 from that site. It was made in an area of 25 square meters, and its coordinates within the site were 100 m north and 100 m east. It yielded 410 sherds; 58 lithic artifacts; 12 fragments of nondiscernible debris; 3 fragments of worn debitage; 1 worn flake; 38 unworn flakes; 1 retouched flake; no worn whole bifaces; 1 worn broken biface; no unworn whole bifaces or unworn broken bifaces; 2 cores; no points or manos; 29 basalt fragments; 1 chert and 1 obsidian artifact; no slate artifacts; 1 quartz artifact; and 26 other artifacts.
