OTHER COURSE POLICIES
  • Students are expected to come prepared for each lecture by reading the appropriate material (as noted in the topical outline) before coming to class.
  • Late assignments will not be accepted and all assignments, projects, examinations, etc. must be completed/taken at the scheduled time.  Exceptions will not be made unless there are highly extenuating circumstances.  Please do not put me in an uncomfortable position by asking for routine extensions; you will have ample time to complete your assignments provided you do not wait until the last minute to get started!
  • I take a very serious view of academic honesty.  I have no objections if you wish to study with your friends or work together on homework  - in fact, if it helps you learn better I encourage you to do so!  However, you must write up on your own the work that you turn in, so that I can ensure that you understand your answers/solutions.   Cheating, plagiarism or any other form of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated, and at a minimum, will automatically result in an F grade for the course; there will be no exceptions to this policy.
  • If you have any disabilty that requires special accommodation please contact the instructor as well as Disability Resources and Services, 216 William Pitt Union, (412) 648-7890, at the beginning of the term. DRS will verify your disability and determine reasonable accommodations for this course. A comprehensive description of the services of that office can be obtained at www.drs.pitt.edu.
