Welcome to the Recombination Directionality Factor Web Site

The control of directionality in integrase mediated site-specific recombination reactions is typically mediated through a small accessory protein known as a recombination directionality factors (RDFs). This class of proteins is made up of a diverse group of proteins that are likely to have multiple ancestral orgins, and include the xis and cox genes. This site has been set up to maintain a list of RDFs and to analyze the relationship among the proteins.
