"Here is our patient rights statement. We post on both floors and have copies available in our pamphlet rack."

Patients have the right to:

  1. Be treated with respect, consideration, and dignity.

  2. Be provided adequate privacy.

  3. Know that all their disclosures and records are treated confidentially, and, except when required by law, are afforded the opportunity to approve or refuse the release of their records.

  4. Be provided with, to the degree known, complete information concerning their diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. When it is medically inadvisable to give such information to a patient, such information is made available to an individual designated by the patient or to a legally authorized individual.
