Position Title:

Postdoctoral Fellowship

Duties & Responsibilities:

We are seeking one motivated and creative applicant with quantitative research backgrounds in genetics/genomics to join an active and collegial research team, co-led by Drs. Wei Chen and Daniel Weeks. The work will involve developing statistical and computational methods for analyzing and integrating high-throughput omics data (e.g. exome sequencing, RNA-seq, and methylation) and leading statistical analysis for genetic studies of complex diseases. The postdoc will also have opportunities to collaborate with other researchers from Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and the Department of Human Genetics and Biostatistics at the Graduate School of Public Health. Position Qualifications:

The applicant should have a PhD degree in one of follow areas: Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or other disciplines with strong quantitative backgrounds. Programming experience in statistical program R and scripting languages such as Perl/Python on Unix/Linux systems is required. Experience in C/C++ is a strong plus.
