Quantum Theatre produces international contemporary plays and adaptations of classic works. The theater has developed a hallmark style through its unusual assemblage of artists and unique take on performance environment. Performers, directors, and designers come from around the world, and the company produces its plays all over the city, but never in theaters. Abandoned factories, stone-walled basements, warehouses, pump houses, museums, defunct breweries, and turn-of-the-century office towers have become home to works by William Shakespeare, Jean Cocteau, Tom Stoppard, Robert Lepage, and new voices such as David Harrower, Helen Edmundson, and Abi Morgan.
