It has been said that Pittsburgh is the most livable city (e.g. see here). I can't verify that, but I can say that from what I know and see, there are many people who can make a living and afford to own a house and survive; and, as a footnote for realism: yes, there are homeless people and neighborhoods that are stuck in poverty (i.e. burdening the taxpayers), and even evil-doers, but this is a human condition that can't be avoided (unless there is a global power that takes over and forces everyone into some superficial peace).

We also enjoy all four seasons (albeit our three rivers/windward side of the allegheny mountains creates a low pressure zone, which attracts overcast/precipitation) and we are friendly to mass transportation and commuting via bicycles, and it seems that everyone is buying into being good stewards of their bodies (e.g. food and fitness stores) and of our land (e.g. green-spaces and LEED standards (e.g. see here)). There is even an iBurgh app for reporting stuff amiss (i.e. we are cool, yes?).
