Welcome to visit my webpage! No matter you come for a professional or a personal reason, below are some brief words of myself.

I am a biostatistician and bioinformatician by training and have been blessed to serve at the University of Pittsburgh since 2003 with rich statistical, computational and biomedical collaborative environment. Statistical machine learning, data integration, and high-dimensional issues in omics and biomedical data have been a central theme in most of my research.

I am a mentor and advisor to many students. It is a genuine joy to work with many talented and lovely students and see their growth and transformation.

I am a father of six children. They happen to be in boy-girl-boy-girl-boy-girl order. The probability of alternating gender is 1/32=3.125%, just enough to reject a conventional null hypothesis although this is surely a coincidence.

I am a child of God, which took me many years to realize.

Serenity Prayer (Reinhold Niebuhr, 1932):

God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
