Almacenamiento prehispánico del norte de México al altiplano central

edited by Séverine Bortot, Dominique Michelet, Véronique Darras

Storage has had a central role in different contexts of human history in all the world. There is no doubt that in Mesoamerica storage was also very important. However, both archaeology and ethnohistory have not paid much attention to the topic and its remains which are most frequently ephemeral. However, storage remains can speak to essential aspects of economic and social life. By reviewing data from different areas of northern and central Mexico, from Chihuahua to Morelos and Puebla, from Michoacán to the Basin of Mexico, this volume attempts to fill a void. Also, beyond a simple compilation of actual information, its pages introduce fundamental discussions on a multitude of issues that the study of storage in past societies can address, such as technological, economic, social, and political aspects, in other words, its anthropological dimension. Includes a CD. In Spanish.
