Activities with Brazil Nuts!

Bate-Papo

Bate-Papo is the Brazil Nuts' answer to the Spanish Club's weekly conversation tables, where students can practice their Portuguese and native speakers can enjoy a linguistic oasis of their mother tongue. Our weekly e-mail messages include possible themese for conversation. We don't always stay on topic! What we want most is for everyone to talk their hearts out, so stop by! We meet on the 5th floor of the William Pitt Union in room 548. Meetings are on Wednesdays at 4PM.

Dance Group

If you can walk, you can dance! Our regular meetings offer opportunities for exercise and entertainment among people who share interests in Brazilian music, dance, and culture. We offer axé, samba, and any other music we come across- including the contemporary work of Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury, and other pop phenomenons. We meet on Thursdays at 7:30PM in the ground floor of Posvar Hall, across from Schenely Plaza in Oakland. See you there!

Brazilian Festival

The Brazilian Festival is our annual party to celebrate Pittsburgh vivacious Brazilian population and its beautiful culture. Each year is themed, and we give a series of lecture presentations prior to our music, dance, and culinary events. This year's festival will be on Friday, April 20 from 5PM-10PM.

Movie Nights

Two evenings per month, Brazil Nuts shows authentic, subtitled Brazilian films for students and members of the general public to expand cultural experience and knowledge. Look for regular updates in our e-mails!
