Register now for Research in Orbit

A portrait of William Wagner

In 2019, the International Space Station (ISS) U.S. National Laboratory formed a research partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine.

Tune in to the virtual Pitt Health Academy: Research in Orbit from 3-4 p.m. March 24, to learn more about how biomanufacturing research on board the ISS is leading the way to medical therapies for patients on Earth. As our researchers find success, it may open the door for future alliances to explore other solutions to common problems through space-based experimentation.

This event is produced as a partnership with the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, Pitt Health Sciences Alumni and the ISS National Laboratory. The event features William R. Wagner (pictured), director of the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, and Christine M. Kretz, vice president of programs and partnerships of the ISS National Laboratory.

Pitt Health Academy events are held on a quarterly basis to provide a platform to showcase groundbreaking research and advancements in the health sciences. Register for the Research in Orbit online to receive instructions for joining the virtual event.
