Free Event: Adapting to Climate Change

Join us on Oct. 15 at 4 p.m. for the second Green Speakeasy, "Adapting to Climate Change: Lessons Learned Relocating an Alaskan Village," featuring Donald Antrobus, village infrastructure protection program manager for the denali commission, and Joel Neimeyer, P.E., retired federal engineer.

Interested in how climate change will impact U.S. communities and what happens when people are displaced? Learn from the professional pioneers who relocated the first U.S. climate change refugees. Hear about how collaboration successfully moved the entire Yup’ik tribe in Newtok, Alaska that was experiencing climate change firsthand. Learn how they got the village to safety, lessons learned for other communities and agencies, and pose your own question to panelists.

Please register to receive the event link.

Hosted by the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation.
