Pitt alumni and students are doing their part on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, both at home and abroad. In “Alumni Heroes,” part of the Pitt Perspectives on Navigating a Pandemic series, hear the stories of:

  • Jim Withers (MED ’84), director and founder of Operation Safety Net and assistant clinical professor at Pitt. 
  • Katie Parker (SOC WK ’12), a public health nurse for the Allegheny County Health Department.
  • Kilkon Ko (GSPIA ’06), director of the Asia Regional Information Center at Seoul National University.
  • Courtney Sheridan, a first-year student in the School of Computing and Information and volunteer with VaccinatePA.
