The students of Sampsonia Way Magazine will host a launch party for their new website and their series, “The Everyday Pandemic” at 7 p.m. March 22 at Alphabet City.

The program will feature City of Asylum’s current and past writers-in-residence and University students. The daily toll of life through the COVID-19 pandemic will be told from the perspective of writers and artists who are familiar with the experience of isolation and exile.

The series is co-sponsored by City of Asylum, Pitt’s Department of English and the Global Studies Center. As part of the event, there will be an interactive creative writing exercise that participants can attend virtually or in-person.

Sampsonia Way Magazine is devoted to literary freedom of expression and giving voice to persecuted writers. It features work from writers around the globe and is edited and designed by Pitt students.

Register for the event.
