Pitt Seed is now accepting video proposals for projects from faculty and staff to the improve how the University advances its mission across areas like teaching and learning excellence, the student experience and alumni success.

Interested Pitt faculty or staff are encouraged to submit a 90-second video pitch by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023. The first round of selections will be announced the week of Feb. 20.

Pitt Seed debuted in 2018 as an internal funding mechanism for interdisciplinary teams of faculty and staff. Six rounds and 90 funded ideas later, the competition received an online makeover featuring three revamped focus areas that align with the Plan for Pitt: our people, our programs and our purpose. Through its online platform, Pitt Seed plans to identify one project annually to scale for broad impact across the University and bring that project to the institutional level.

Full information about the process is available at the Pitt Seed video pitch page, and the application is available at my.pitt.edu.
