Pitt will provide one N95 respirator per person starting Jan. 27

The most important aspect of any mask is that it be well-fitted and cover the mouth and nose. N95 respirators offer maximum protection against SARS-CoV-2 if worn properly, which might be a consideration for vulnerable people or those who have a vulnerable close contact.

Beginning Jan. 27, the University of Pittsburgh will provide one N95 respirator per person at the concierge entrances to University buildings for those who need them. Surgical masks, which are appropriate in many cases, will continue to be available.

If you don’t receive an N95 when you enter a Pitt facility, you may pick up an N95 on Thurs., Jan. 27, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Cathedral of Learning Commons Room, William Pitt Union or the Petersen Events Center main lobby.
