The University of Pittsburgh’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) received the Regional Export Promotion Program (REPP) Member of the Year Award from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) at its annual conference on Dec. 13.

The SBDC has served as a resource for small business owners, providing consulting services, workshops and other support at all stages of the business lifecycle. Through the REPP, local members partner with EXIM to expand export opportunities in their own communities.

Recognized as both a Center of Excellence in Digital Services and Center of Excellence in Supply Chain, the SBDC was established in 1979 with a mission to grow the economy of Western Pennsylvania by providing entrepreneurs with the education, information and tools necessary to build successful businesses. EXIM, in turn, is the nation’s official export credit agency with the mission of supporting American jobs by facilitating U.S. exports.
