Maureen Pastin named director of compensation in Pitt’s Office of Human Resources

Pittsburgh native Maureen Pastin started as the director of compensation on March 7, the Office of Human Resources has announced.

Pastin is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the compensation department, including continuing and launching the Compensation Modernization project, under the Shaping the Workplace initiative. She works closely with University leadership and the Office of Human Resources to develop and uphold compensation-related policies and procedures in support of the University’s mission.

Pastin is an experienced compensation and human resources professional with more than 30 years of experience, having held various senior leadership roles throughout her career. She most recently served as the assistant director of total rewards at The J.M. Smucker Company before becoming an independent consultant. Pastin holds a BA in communications from Thiel College and is a Certified Compensation Professional.
