Jill Sarada named director of the Falk Laboratory School

Jill Sarada (A&S ’93, EDUC ’94G) has been named the new director of Fanny Edel Falk Laboratory School, a K-8 institution affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh School of Education.

Sarada has worked at Falk for 26 years, beginning as a student-teacher. As director, she will be responsible for leading with strategic vision, fostering academic excellence, strengthening Falk’s overall community and ensuring Falk’s financial future.

Sarada’s vision for education includes promoting a wide variety of partnerships and collaborations between the school, the Pittsburgh community and beyond. Guided by the principles of progressive education, she believes in learning experiences that are authentic to students’ lives and rooted in identity, culture and development. Her term begins July 1, 2022.
