Jessica Ghilani presented to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy

Jessica Ghilani, Pitt Cyber affiliate scholar and associate professor of communication at Pitt-Greensburg, joined the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy to discuss the National Nanotechnology Initiative and give a presentation: “Science Communication, Misinformation and Trust.”

Ghilani is a well-regarded expert on the ecosystems of misinformation and disinformation and a member of the Pitt Disinformation Lab. Her work as a professor includes research on the histories of technology, digital communication, advertising, recruitment, branding and public relations.

The National Nanotechnology Initiative has long emphasized the importance of responsible development, and social scientists have played important roles in the interdisciplinary research that supports fundamental and applied research in nanotechnology.
