Chengcheng Huang, assistant professor of neuroscience and mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh, has won a National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award.
The CAREER Award is the NSF’s most prestigious honor and it supports junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through research and education. Huang won for her research project, which combines mathematics and neuroscience by integrating existing datasets of large-scale neural activity recordings and anatomical connectivity to provide a new understanding of the communications in the brain.
“I am truly honored to receive this award,” said Huang. “This support allows me to explore new research directions and tackle complex challenges that have the potential to transform our field. This recognition inspires me to continue pushing the boundaries of our understanding of the brain.”
