The Pre-Health Professions
Committee is designed to facilitate and evaluate the preparation of
students planning to apply for admission to a health professions school.
Students who are planning to apply to Medical, Dental, Optometry, Veterinary,
or Chiropractic school should make an appointment to meet with the committee
early in the year of application. For most students, this will be at
the end of their junior year or beginning of their senior year. Students
should contact Dr. Dessie Severson (severson@pitt.edu)
to make arrangements for an interview with the committee. Before the
interview, students should gather together the necessary materials,
including their transcripts, personal statement, and application materials.
