Basic Services

Physical Fitness Assessments

A graded exercise test in which you will walk (and possibly jog/run) will estimate your level of aerobic fitness. These results will better enable a more appropriate exercise program.

Individualized Exercise Prescriptions

The individualized exercise prescriptions are determined on your level of aerobic fitness as well as your goals whether it is to decrease risk of heart disease, lower blood pressure and stress, etc.

Body Fat Analysis

Body composition is a quick procedure to assess the percentages of fat mass and fat-free mass (i.e. muscle, bone, and organs) as well as the distribution of fat mass. Body composition is assessed using waist-to-hip ratio, bioelectrical impedence analysis, and three-site skinfold measurements.

Exercise Classes

There are a number of exercise classes offered for Wellness members. Check out Classes for descriptions of some of these classes and the Schedule for classes currently being offered.

Cardiovascular and Cybex Lifting Equipment

Wellness members have access to the exercise and fitness facilities of Trees Hall and Bellefield Hall. These facilities offer you a number of cardiovascular equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary cycles) as well as Cybex resistance machines and free-weights.

Wellness Seminars and Lectures

There is usually one or two Wellness seminars or lectures throughout each semester. These seminars or lectures are focused on a specific topic we feel is important for the University community or are hot-topics in the media. Don't forget about our annual Wellness Fair!
