Hi! My name is Wei Jeng and I am a second-year doctoral student of Library and Information Science at School of Information Sciences, University of Pittsburgh.
My current research interests focus on online group composition in academic social network. My ongoing research, under my advisor, Dr. Jung Sun Oh, at University of Pittsburgh, explores cross-disciplinary group composition in a certain academic social networking site in order to determine whether the site can become a common platform for researchers. I also work closely with my co-advisor, Dr. Daqing He at the iRiS (Information Retrieval, Integration and Synthesis Lab) Lab, and I am exploring the structure of the citation and readership network on reference management services in iRiS Lab.
I have also devoted myself to several research projects, as a interaction designer and research assistant, in Dr. Peter Brusilovsky’s Lab, such as Conference Navigator and Eventur, growing my practical experience.
