No changes were requested to the minutes of the
There have been some staff
changes in the Office of Research. An additional grants officer position
was created, and Kathy Carr has been hired to fill the position. Pam Weid is the new grants and contracts assistant, and Eric
Larson graduated to a full grants officer. One vacancy is left to fill.
The Research and Conduct Compliance Office under
the guidance of Randy Juhl is working to regularize Conflict of Interest
disclosure.
All major agencies are receiving substantial
increases. Funding opportunities are promising.
There is a new PHS mandate about instruction in
responsible research. A certificate of completion, attached to the
proposal, may be mandatory by

Salter asked about possible
changes in animal use policy. Klinzing will invite Joseph Newsome to
