MINUTES
No
changes were requested to the minutes of the June 11, 2001
meeting.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- The Provost will deliver
his charge to Council at the next meeting.
- This committee's focus
will be on faculty computing.
- Klinzing is willing to
continue the High Performance Network Applications Initiative this year.
He would like a group from this committee to examine last year's program
and make recommendations for this year.
- There will be several
information sessions again this year.
REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR OF COMPUTING SERVICES & SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT
-- JINX WALTON
- The University's current
bandwidth is 160 megabit. The student link is 80 megabit.
- The Faculty Computing
Program, previously known as UNA, has been redesigned. Details are
available on the Web.
- The Blackboard 5 upgrade
is in place.
- The Posvar
Hall renovation is complete.
- Student Info has been
redesigned. The new version will be out in the next few weeks.
