Council on Academic Computing

January 16, 2003

Meeting Summary

STUDENT DATA WAREHOUSE PROJECT

Computing Services and Systems Development (CSSD) presented an overview of the Student Data Warehouse Project. Access to the different sources of data on students currently is limited because access to different databases is not well coordinated. Data for each unit or department still resides primarily on separate databases. The Data Warehouse will function as an easily accessible, yet secure, central repository of student information. As a centralized store of information, it will permit users to access the information they need. The Data Warehouse was developed in conjunction with the Office of the Registrar, Student Financial Services, the Office of Admissions and Aid, and the Faculty and College of Arts and Sciences. It will supercede the current student information system, ISIS (Integrated Student Information System).
