The mission of the Office of Student Affairs is
to expand the educational experience of the student beyond the classroom.
Through the various services and programs provided by Student Affairs the
student has the opportunity to grow intellectually, physically, and
socially.
The departments within the Division of Student Affairs include: Food
Service, Residence Life and Housing, Counseling and Student Development,
Health Services, Student Activities, Student Union, Campus Safety,
Conference Management, Parking Services, Intercollegiate Athletics,
Judicial Affairs, and Intramurals/Extramurals.
The offices for Student Affairs are located in the J. Curtis McKinney II
Student Union at 508 E. Walnut Street. This facility opened its
doors in 1980 and includes: Boomer's which contains the University
Snack Bar and multipurpose room, (seating for 250), two classrooms, a
full-sized gymnasium (seating for 700), three racquetball courts, an
auxiliary gym with free weights, weight machines, and treadmills, and
locker rooms and sauna facilities. Also housed in the Student Union is the
Learning Center (tutoring), the Commuter Student Lounge, the University
Bookstore, Health Center, Campus Safety, Counseling and Student
Development, and various other offices of the Division of Student Affairs.
