PELL Grant Program:
Range presently from $400 to $3,125.
Eligibility determined through the FAFSA submitted.
- Federal
Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG): Range from $200 to
$1,000. Eligibility determined
by school and dependent on PELL eligibility and availability of funds.
- Perkins
Loan:
Range from $200 to $1,000. Eligibility
determined by school and contingent upon need and availability of funds.
Interest rate is 5%.
- Stafford
Loan:
First year eligibility is $2,625.
If need based, interest is subsidized. If not need based, interest is paid by student borrower.
Interest rate maximum is 8.25%, annual variable rate.
Current annual rate is 6.32%.
- Parents
Loan (PLUS):
Parents can borrow up to the difference between the cost of
attendance and financial aid received by student.
Eligibility determined by credit worthiness of parent with lender.
Applications to be submitted after all other financial aid resources
have been determined. Interest
rate maximum is 9.00% annual variable rate.
Current annual rate is 7.72%. Request
an application through your bank.
- Pennsylvania
State Grant Program:
Range presently from $200 to $3,100. Eligibility determined by PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher
Education Assistance Agency). All
applications submitted by May 1ST are considered.
Late Applicants filing after May 1st are considered on
basis of available funding. PA residents only.
- Ohio
Instructional Grant:
Grant is for Ohio residents only.
Range from $200 to $3.734. Eligibility
determined by Ohio Board of Regents. FAFSA
must be submitted by August 1st, 2000.
- Other
State Grant Programs:
The District of Columbia, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and
West Virginia have portable State Grant programs.
Eligibility is for residents and is based on State agency
requirements. Check with your
high school guidance office for further information.
- UPT
Grants: Range from $300 to
$1,000 based on financial need and need for direct institutional charges.
- Room
Scholarships: Range from
$1,000 to $2,000 per year. Admissions
Committee determines eligibility.
- Athletic
Room Grants: Grants are
based on actual room charges. Eligibility
determined by Athletic Department. Grant
considered as part of the financial packaging if Federal and State funds are
included.
- Scholarships
- Local
Community and High School Scholarships: Check with your high school guidance office.
- Regional
and National Scholarships: Check with your high school guidance office and in
reference sources, i.e., “FUND FINDER” in the library at the University
of Pittsburgh at Titusville or The Scholarship Book at your local
library.
- Scholarship
Search Programs: Use the
World Wide Web to explore possible scholarship sources.
