The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville

Summer Enrichment 2002

Summer Enrichment for Grades 4-12

The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville would like to invite the local youth to participate in its 5th Annual Summer Enrichment Program for Grades 4-12 .  The program brings together various subjects including chemistry, biology, physics, and poetry through demonstrations, hands-on projects, laboratory work, field trips and fun sport activities.  By means of "seeing" and "doing" science, "reading" and "writing" poetry in various fun and meaningful ways, participants are introduced to computer usage as well as basic methods and techniques empolyed in these fields.  Each day participants make their products to bring home.  They also create their own web pages summarizing their learning.  The progarm offers a place to meet new friends and an introduction to college environment.

All the camp directors hold advanced degrees in their respective disciplines with more than 80% holding Ph.D.s.  They are also experienced in working with pre-college students through summer camps, workshops, gifted programs and various contests. A staff of skilled college students will emphasize campus safety while supervising the students closely.
