The annual award for outstanding Freshman chemistry students is sponsored by the Erie Section of American Chemical Society.  Each year,  the faculty of Chemistry Department at UPT nominate one Freshman student for his/her academic achievements in Chemistry for this award.  The awardee is invited to attend an Annual Award Dinner Banquet, a tour to a chemical plant, and receives a trophy together with a copy of the "CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics".
