UPT Chemistry Club Won a Prize
 

UPT Chemistry Club won a $25 prize from Erie Section of American Chemical Society for being among top food item collectors for local food banks during National Chemistry Week's food drive event.

A Recent Publication

Dr. Ping Furlan's article, " An On Campus Celebration of National Chemistry Week ", has recently been published in Chemical Educator 5(2000) 6, 351-356.

Any present or prior chemistry students are welcome to join in the Chemistry Fun.  The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2001 from 12:15 to 12:50 in Dr. Furlan's Chemistry Lab.

Chemistry Gifted Program

Three gifted high school students, Graham Barnhart, Kim L'Huillier, and Ryan Necas, have recently successfully completed their six seminars in Chemistry at UPT.  Their weekly projects have included converting beverage cans into a useful substance, making rubber balls, tie-dying t-shirts, coating glassware with silver and observing various interesting chemistry reactions.  Click this link to view their web pages .
