All
new and upgraded staff PC’s now operate under a management system designed
by Information Technology. Please note the following:
·The
system is based on Windows XP and 2000. It is Microsoft's up-to-date operating
system and offers some particularly attractive management and security
features for us, i.e., it facilitates our ability to perform unattended
data backup, remotely install software, and fix many desktop problems via
network connections.
·Due
to enhanced power saving features, the monitors will automatically power
down after 20 minutes; the CPU/hard drive after 2 hours. (Clicking the
mouse or space bar will restore both)
THIS PROCEDURE

files are on a secured server under IT’s administration.
·All
of your files must be saved in the "My Documents" folder on your
desktop.
We have setup your applications to save there by default. (Within this
folder, you have complete control of the folder and directory setup.)
