Dr. Norman W. Scanlon was appointed interim president in December, 1996. He received his B.A. in political science from St. Vincent College, an M.A. in political science, as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Scanlon began his affiliation with the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg in 1968 with an appointment of instructor in political science. In 1986 he was named associate dean of academic affairs, interim dean in 1991, and dean in 1995. In 1995, he became vice president of academic affairs.
