PITT-GREENSBURG TO CELEBRATE 40TH ANNIVERSARY
It's a milestone year for UPG.  Forty years ago UPG held its first classes in a small storefront in downtown Greensburg.  Who could have imagined that it would grow so quickly to become the largest four-year degree granting university in Westmoreland County.  For a complete timeline and chronology of UPG, click here to visit our official 40th Anniversary website. Watch your email for a complete list of 40th Anniversary events.

PGAA SPONSORS YMCA CROQUET TOURNAMENT AT UPG
The Pitt-Greensburg Alumni Association (PGAA) sponsored a tent at the 14th Annual Greensburg Croquet Club Tournament held at UPG.  Alumni board members, contributors, UPG faculty, and community leaders joined the approximately 1,400 other guests in attendance making this one of the most popular days on the Westmoreland County social calendar. To honor UPG's upcoming 40th Anniversary the tent had a 60's theme with toys, music, food, and photos from that decade.

"Because this is the major fundraising event for the Greensburg YMCA, our participation helps the PGAA fulfill its goal of community involvement," said PGAA president, Jason Gongaware. Click here for scenes from croquet:

BOBCAT BENEFIT GOLF OUTING A GREAT SUCCESS
Totteridge Golf Club, the new private links course in Greensburg , was the site of this year's Bobcat Benefit Golf Outing.  Seen among the 136 golfers were Pittsburgh Steelers #87 Mark Bruner, U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy, State Rep. Tom Tangretti, UPG President Dr. Frank Cassell, and UPG Men's Basketball coach Marcus Kahn.  Alumni players included Will Hoffman, Rob Ritson, John Jamison, and Steve Barbery (congratulations to Steve for winning the 50/50 drawing).

UPG Athletics Director, Dan Swalga, sends many thanks to members of the PGAA for their sponsorship and participation.  To see photos from the day click here
