Leadership Development at UPG
UPG Clubs and Organizations  - Student Organizations at UPG provide a wide variety of opportunities to become involved on campus and throughout the community.  Students will find that each and every organization is unique in purpose, activities and goals, and these groups are a great training ground for leadership.

Organization Presidents & Treasurers Orientation- Learning strategies on how to effectively lead is essential to starting the year off right.  We offer orientations for our officers that educate them on budgeting, university policy, creating an effective constitution, parliamentary procedure, organization collaboration, and programming.

Organization Advisors Orientation –  Our advisors play an important role in the development of our campus student leaders.  It is important that they are familiar with all of the resources that the university has to offer.

Emerging Leaders Development Series – is similar to management development programs in corporations, with the main difference being that the series is tailored specifically for college students who lead others in the university community.  It is a 10-week session that involves community service and addressing different aspects of leadership.

Student Involvement Transcript  At the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, we believe in the importance of the out-of-class experience.  The Student Involvement Transcript is another effort in helping UPG students establish strong credentials.  The SIT records leadership activities, honor societies, and religious, cultural, social, and athletic groups.  Students use this document in conjunction with their academic transcripts, resumes, and career portfolios to provide prospective employers with a multi-faceted record of their accomplishments.

UPG Fall Leadership Conference –  UPG hosts a fall conference in which student leaders come from all over the region.  With the representation of 7-10 different institutions, it offers great opportunities to network and learn about leadership in a fun way.

Volunteerism – Community service, or volunteerism connects students with each other, the campus, and the community at large.  Participation in service projects can round out the classroom learning.  It also provides students with experiences that are relevant to their personal and career development.

More Details - Leadership Workshops will occur every thursday begining September 25, 2003
