The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg lost 7-2 to Penn State-Altoona on Monday. Sophomore Puneet Mehrota (Hempfield Area H.S.) won his number-four singles match 7-6, 2-6,10-8. Also posting a victory for the Bobcats was freshman Ryan Manzer (Mars H.S.). Manzer won his number-five singles match 6-2, 4-2.
The Bobcats ended the week on Saturday at Frostburg State for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament. UPG placed fourth in the tournament with two points. The Bobcats finished the season 1-11 overall with a 1-6 mark in AMCC play.
Sophomore Outfielder Kirk Loos (Ringgold H.S.) represents the UPG Bobcats as a Second-Team-All-Conference selection in the AMCC.
Sophomore Rachel Dye is an Honorable Mention for AMCC All-Conference honors in women’s softball.
