American Studies (Bachelor of Arts)

The major in American Studies provides a structure for multidisciplinary study leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies. It is designed for students who have interests which are not confined to a single discipline, or even to disciplines within a single division, but who nonetheless have a broad thematic interest in American history, society, and culture.

Major Requirements (33 credits):

Students must earn at least a C grade in all courses used to fulfill the major requirements. Courses used to fulfill major requirements may not be used to fulfill simultaneously the General Education degree requirement for the baccalaureate.

Core Requirements (15 credits):

All American Studies majors must complete the following core courses:
