Enrollment numbers climb - with the 494 incoming freshmen, UPG has seen an increase in full-time enrollment over the last 5 years, welcoming a total of 1660 full-time and 210 part-time students for the Fall 2002 term.

Requirements for Full-time Admission - 2002/2003

Minimum of 15 units of credit in college preparatory courses, taken in grades 9 through 12, including:

4 years English
1 year Algebra
1 year Plane geometry or algebra II **
1 year History
1 year Lab science **
3 years Foreign language (must be the same all 3 years) *
4 years Academic electives

* If this requirement is not met, a student may still apply for admission. If admitted, applicants will be required to remedy this deficiency by completing one year of a foreign language at UPG.

** The Admissions Office strongly recommends that students take three or four years of mathematics in high school (including two years of algebra), two or three years of science, two or three years of history or other social studies, and four years of a single foreign language.

*** Students interested in engineering should have taken two years of algebra, one-half year of trigonometry; and one year each of plane geometry, chemistry and physics. In addition, calculus and computer science are recommended.
