Welcome to Tamar Degani's webpage!

Who Am I:

I am a graduate student in the Department of Psychology and the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition at the University of Pittsburgh.

I came to Pittsburgh from Israel after completing a BA in Psychology at the University of Haifa in 2003.

As a native Hebrew speaker immersed in an English environment, I am interested in Bilingualism and Second language learning.

I am particularly interested in how one's native language affects the processing of a second language and the general cognitive effects of knowing different languages and different writing systems.
