Pathology and clinical signs in people
  • The incubation period in people is 2 to 4 weeks.
  • Most infections in man are also subclinical.
  • When people do show symptoms, it is usually characterized by a flu-like illness with fever, chills, headache, respiratory signs, muscle pain and malaise.
  • Serious complications can occur including abortion, endocarditis and hepatitis.
