At baseline and during follow-up we also get microbiology for all these various bugs that I’ve mentioned that are related to BV. The bottom line is that our baseline data, which have been submitted for publication, do actually suggest that douching, especially douching one or more times per month, is associated with BV. It also seems to be associated with a lot of Lactobacillae and with Gardnerella, one of the bad bugs, and every other bad bug. And the more recent the douching is, the greater the relationship, which suggests that there’s something really biologic going on.
