If you look at tubal damage, which is the type of damage that PID results in, you’ll see that although it only accounts for 12 % (sometimes up to 15 % depending upon the statistic of women who have infertility), the pregnancy rate, even in the best hands - with in vitro fertilization - are actually quite low for this condition. So once a woman has tubal damage, unfortunately her likelihood of becoming pregnant is relatively low.
