Correlation of LDL Size (Spearman) with Selected Variables.

L1 is dense LDL. L1 is not correlated with total LDL.

Level of dense LDL (L1) is primarily determined by being high waist circumference, insulin level, triglycerides, and CRP.

Dense LDL (L1) is strikingly inversely correlated with HDL cholesterol. HDL cholesterol theory may be in some way related to the density of lipoproteins.
