Women were recruited in the waiting room of a clinic to watch a short video concerning cervical cancer and Pap testing and to complete questionnaires in exchange for $10. Participants provided consent to review their medical records at the clinic.

Telephone follow-up interviews were conducted six and twelve months after the women completed the study. During these interviews, women were asked if they had obtained a Pap test in the past six and twelve months, respectively, and, if so, where it was obtained.

The goal of this verification was to examine whether participants had indeed obtained a Pap, or some other gynecological procedure, or correctly reported not having had a Pap in the previous year.
