It is fatally easy for good people to misunderstand each other.

Busy people may not listen effectively.

The temptation is to bluster and bully, and to get one’s way.

People often seem to relish acting out their roles-The wicked owner, Mr.Gradgrind versus the implacable trade Unionist, defending the indefensible.

Eventually everyone has to get back to work, the sooner they can, without loss of face and hopefully some gains, the better everyone feels.

A long and damaging dispute may leave a legacy in blood down the generations. E.g the coal mining industry in UK.
