Los actos terroristas son episódicos, no continuos. Usualmente las muertes debidas al terrorismo ocupan solo una pequeña proporción de todas las causas de muerte. Cuando ocurre un ataque serio, como en 2001, la tasa de defuncion se puede incrementar mucho.
