In regard to all types, people who frequently consumed Western foods were about twice (OR=1.82, 95% CI=1.14-2.89) as likely to be cases as people who infrequently consumed Western foods.

In hearing loss subgroups, people who frequently consumed Western foods were about three times (OR=3.05, 95% CI=1.29-7.19) as likely as those who infrequently consumed these foods to be cases with flat-type hearing loss.

In other four subgroups, people who frequently consumed Western foods had odds ratios greater than one (ranging from 1.22 to 1.95), but the differences between these and their respective reference groups were not statistically significant.
